LOCATION/DESCRIPTION: This will be a family friendly scavenger hunt for all to come along and have some weekend fun and fellowship. Tracks are mostly rated easy so it is open to all levels of experience. The base camp is the Blackwood Mineral Springs caravan park. Bring along your caravan, camper or tent and stay the weekend. There are limited onsite vans. Make a booking at the caravan park or stay somewhere else in the area if you want to. There is even glamping available at Garden of St Erth. You can make it a day trip if that is all the time you can spare but staying Saturday night (and maybe Friday night as well) will be better. As it is an event, this is open to bring friends or potential members along without the need for temporary membership. Just make sure they are registered. The notes for the scavenger hunt will be handed out at the caravan park, along with a briefing, at 9am on Saturday. You can then plan your route or just drive from location to location and pick up objects as you go. This is mostly a digital scavenger hunt. Most of the objects to collect will be digital photos but there are other items to collect. You will need to wear decent walking shoes as some items are designed to get you out of the vehicle and hunt for them. Scoring will be done upon return to base camp. This event is designed to be fun and to practice some basic navigation. It is not a highly competitive day. No special navigation devices or skills are required. If you can read a map or use a standard GPS, you can do this. If you get completely lost, as a last resort your GPS can guide you back to the caravan park. The prize will be bragging rights but the goal is to have fun and explore the area. For the Saturday evening meal, you are free to cater for yourselves or join us at the Blackwood pub for a meal. If you intend to eat at the pub, please let me know so I can give the pub warning of approximate numbers. As it is a small town pub, they may not be ready for an influx of people. Toilets are available at several locations throughout the route. Shops are also available at the start, end
