TRIP REPORTS We met at the Yarra Glen Bakehouse. There was a good mix of vehicles and skill sets which was good to see. Plenty of advice and suggestions from the group to make it easier for me. I had a few offers for TEC but it was Lejoe and his impressive 79er that got the job. I started to feel a little more relaxed about what was ahead. After a few introductions, brekky and toilet breaks, we were off. We continued along Spraggs Road until we got to the first intersection on my map. To be honest, I don’t even know the name of this particular track. I’ve checked my maps and google maps and it comes up blank. The track runs north and sits parallel between Gutter Creek Road and Criss Cross Road. Enlighten me or maybe I should go back and name it. This was a relatively easy track with a few bog holes along the way but there was usually a way around each of them. But nobody was quite ready for the bog yet. It was at about this point when I realised who this guy Charlie was that was on our channel. I knew there was nobody with that name on my list as I got Kyra to re-check. Charlie was my TEC and it was about time I start acknowledging him. Oops. Newbie error. “Lejoe’s Impressive 79er” Straight up the Melba Highway towards Toolangi. We turned right on to Kinglake- Healesville Road and then on to Spraggs Road. We pulled up just before the dirt to air down our tyres. Pressures varied from around 20+. “Baby Thomas #1908 - doing it easy” “David Cartwright #1928” We eventually got to the last few metres of the track which takes you on to Marginal Road. This section is around 30 metres long offering a modest decline and a few decent ruts. Nothing panel damaging but rough enough to get the heart beating. After everyone had their turn at the fun, we headed back along even ground towards a camp area
