TRIP REPORTS The first of the more challenging tracks that we drove was - Newcombe Track, which not only was steep but featured some very deep ruts. Another interesting track was Coopers No.2. This amusing track provided us all with an entertaining game called 'Pick Up Sticks' as we all did, thus the non stop calls over the UHF - "Just stopping to remove another stick". Some of the large washouts did challenge the lower ground clearance of the Pajero with the rear LHS plastic bumper of my Paj deciding to act as a scoop - lifting and separating from the rest of the car. (Sounds like a Bra Advert!) Back to camp for a very relaxing evening with yet another spectacular Chicken Dinner washed down with some excellent red wine - compliments of Walid. Saturday 18th May Saturday morning - 'End of the Trip' with all participants making their own way back home. Walid and I took a diversion into Geelong to catch up with Shane Dunlop, a previous member of the club. End Notes: The Otway's is of course renowned for it's spectacular scenery and rain forests. To the Four Wheel Drive fraternity, the Otway's is also famous, for the thick gluey clay mud that takes forever to remove from your four wheel drive. I'm surprised I haven't been fined for removing National Park property based on the estimated 50 kilo's of mud removed from all nooks and crannies under my Paj! Thank you Tony for a most relaxing and enjoyable trip in the Otway's. I would definitely recommend this trip or, any of Tony's trips to all new members of the club. Ralph Longley 829
