PAJERO CLUB GENERAL MEETING February 20, 2019 Meeting Opened by President Neil Phillips: 7:30pm Welcomed members and explained the meeting format. Quick update: The president provided a brief update on the Rules and By Laws Review process, Pajero Annual General Meeting 21 August 2019, Club Historian position and POTY points (both Ralph Longley). Ralph Longley: Gave a talk about Riley Sinclair who is the son of members and has leukemia. Thanks to the Club for the support they have given. Talk: Following Burke and Wills by Doug Hammerton which included a sharing of his experience about organising long trips. President: Strategy Day feedback The Committee held its annual strategy day on 2 nd February. Special thanks to Grant Cavenagh as facilitator, and Jim and Diane Kennedy as our hosts at the Black Spur Inn at Narbethong. Financial plan to move towards a balanced budget by the end of 2019 Temporary membership: for passengers without vehicle is $15 once per year Review of Committee positions and possible revision of Rules TeamApp – Paul Hicks; Stuart Gay, Frank Amato website Several members are having trouble receiving TeamApp messages (over 10% of the meeting), and these are being addressed. Membership: Virginia introduced new members and gave out their badges and welcome envelopes. • One-truck award - Rod Chapple Years of membership recognition. • 10 Years - Matt Barnard, Derek Bardsley and Annie McGennisken, Craig and Kellie Platt, Gary and Marg Scott, Gary and Beverley Smith. • 20 Years – Brian and Carol Digby, Jim and Dianne Kennedy. Trip & Social: Ed congratulated the membership for the number of people who went away with the club on Australia Day weekend. He listed trips run in the last two months as well the trips to come; he thanked all trip leaders and members who participated. Told the membership about the Pajero challenge and the 4WD show at Lardner Park. Driver Training: There are many courses coming up in the next few months: Proficiency, Skills, Trip planning, Chain saw and Advanced. Shop: Paul drew attention to the new Club visors on sale soon, and other merchandise.
