Suspension and Wheels:
I’ve upgraded the tyre size to 285/70/17 (33”) BF Goodrich KO2 All Terrains and I’ve fitted them to Barwarrion Coffi rims which are compatible with the Jeep TPMS. The rims have a -10 offset which allow the wheels to sit further away from the axle given that I’ve put a larger tyre on the car which was sitting quite close to the sway bar.
I’ve also lifted the vehicle with an AEV 2.5” lift kit which consists of triple-rate coils at all four corners and custom-tuned Bilstein shocks. Geometry correction brackets have been added as this improves the ride quality by reducing the operating angle of the front control arms which means that the suspension is allowed to work in a more natural state given the impact that installing a lift kit has on the original geometry of the car. This means that when hitting a bump, the force applied to the control arms is directed up into the springs instead of directly back into the frame.
After installing the lift kit, the sway bars weren’t operating as effectively as they were designed to do. The front sway bar was now too firm, and the rear sway bar needed to be more flexible. I had to decide whether this configuration would meet my requirements, balancing both on-road and off-road handling. Could I just install a manual sway bar disconnect for the front sway bar to add flexibility off-road? Or did I want something that was set and forget?
I did some investigating on what would be the best and easiest option and opted for the Currie Antirock sway bar system both front and rear. These could be used both on-road and off-road without having to disconnect anything but still give me a nice balance between both applications.

I purchased my Wrangler brand new at the end of April in 2016. While the stock
standard model is quite capable for off-roading I decided early on to plan my
modifications based on the type of off-roading I wanted to do. It comes with
standard road tyres which meant this was the first decision I needed to make and
from there my modifications just seemed to take off.
The modifications have been done by JeepKonection who have done a fabulous job
with meticulous attention to detail and interoperability. I highly recommend them if
you have a Jeep.
