SAND DUNES – IT’S ON AGAIN
9TH to the 12th March 2018
Trip Reports
On the 9 of March Jacob and I set out on what would be a fun weekend. We spent a long six hours sitting in a car listening to tunes. We celebrated the first 100 km we had travelled but the rest was sat in suspense. On the way we both tried guessing what was in the distance, I thought it was a fire whilst he thought it was just a factory, but there was no way of knowing. Two hours after lunch time, we finally decided to stop and have some lunch. We entered a shop and we were looking to see what we could have and that was when I got to taste my very first souvlaki. It had chicken mayo Lettice and tomato in it and I have to say it was one of the best pieces of food I have tried ever.
Once we got to camp we spent our time setting up our tent that was not too hard by ourselves. Once we got all of the trailer emptied, we put down our tires to go down to the beach. When we tried to get up the first hill we didn’t have the
tires down low enough so when we took off to head up the hill whilst there was multiple problems. I didn’t have my seatbelt on, the car had no bump stops and the buggy’s tore up the track so I just spent my time bouncing up and down hitting my head on the roof giving me a head ache. Eventually we managed to get up the hill and we headed down to the beach totake some photos. Whilst we were there we ended up seeing a couple of people trying to get out from being bogged on the beach. But they did get out. After all that happened and we ate are dinner Jacob had to go and pick up our sister.
The next morning we spent our time getting up and getting ready to go out for our first trip. Now there was two groups going out, you had the first group which was all the people that hasn’t been to the sand dunes whilst we were in the experienced group.
