PRESIDENT ’ S REPORT March 2017
March 2017 , here we are already entering the first quarter of what was a new year !
March is a very special month , being the 25th Anniversary Mitsubishi Pajero Challenge .
The location will be well known to all members who attended the 2016 Pajero Club Muster , that being Moonambel , north west of Avoca , mid Victoria . Lael Lea , our 2017 Challenge coordinator tells me it ’ s all system go for this year ’ s event . Participants are eager to hit the tracks , and the Challenge helpers are all organised for their set check points and designated tasks . The outstanding prizes generously donated by Engel , Narva and Aussie Disposals , will definitely provide the incentive for all participants to strive to achieve a podium finish .
On behalf of all members , I would like to thank Mitsubishi Motors Australia , Engel , Narva and Aussie
Disposals for their tremendous support . The 2017 , 25th Anniversary Mitsubishi Pajero Challenge would not have been possible without their generous support .
By now , all members should have been notified of the decision made by the current committee to publish the Exceed magazine on a bimonthly basis . This has come about for various reasons , most prominent being to contain cost increases and reduce the excessive work load on our editors .
March , April and May Exceed magazines will be monthly , with the first Bi-Monthly edition being published in July 2017 .
Safe Pajero Club Tripping ! Did you know , when you advertise your trip through the club , it is then sanctioned through the official channels . This is most beneficial to you and your participants in many ways-
* Affinity Insurance cover - This covers you and your participants in the case of personal injury . Please note this does not include motor vehicle damage which should be covered by your own insurance company . Please read the P & L statement to ensure you are covered in areas you may be travelling . * POTY ( Person Of The Year ) reward points . The new PTY format is proving very popular and many members have gained multi tickets in the end of POTY year rewards draw . ( See the POTY page for more information ).
Do you know the biggest rewards from planning and running a trip ? * The self satisfaction and reward gained from leading a group of fellow members . * Taking them to new areas to explore and discover . * Enjoying the friendship with lots of laughs around the camp fire . Please ensure you log your trip with Trip & Social to take advantage of the many benefits to be gained .
Adult / Child Emergency Personal Details . ( EPD )
Further to the ‘ Safe Pajero Club Tripping ’, you will find enclosed within the March Exceed , a new formatted Emergency Personal Detail form . Toni Hunter-Miller has been very pro-active in formatting the new EPD to bring it up to date with all relative information required . This has been a major topic on the committee agenda for some time , being approved at the February committee meeting .
The new EPD replaces the old Personal Detail Form that you carried in your glove box on all club trips . The normal procedure stays in place , this being 3 ‘ Sealed ’ copies per person- one for the Trip Leader , one for TEC ( Tail End Charlie ) and one copy to remain in your car .
Don ’ t forget to get all your copies back at the end of the trip !
Last but not least , even though it ’ s only March , I ask all members to consider assisting your club as a committee member . Although the AGM is not until July , all committee members will be pleased to discuss their individual roles so you can appreciate what is involved . Some of our committee members have put in 2 + years and although they would gladly continue , they have other priorities in their lives to consider . Please give me a call if you would like more information .
Safe travels , looking forward to seeing you all at the March General Meeting .
