TRIP REPORT

Peter & Colleen Catherall
We were somewhat unsure what awaited us for our first Oxfam Christmas Tree run . An email arrived the evening prior with a list of 12 names and addresses we would deliver trees to . 20 minutes invested in route planning on Google maps was well worth it for a run through Montrose , up Mt Dandenong and then Ferntree Gully & Lysterfield .
We set off to get our trees with a length of tinsel garnishing the bullbar and a beaut sunny morning to help our spirits . Picking up trees from Donvale at a leisurely 9:30 was well organised affair with folk on hand ready to load the trees on our trailer . Each counted out until the prescribed 12 were on , a rope over the lot and away we went .
Each delivery address had individual drop off instructions and we had no problems finding our way around . We encountered surprisingly few recipients with most asking for trees to be “ left on front porch if not home ”. Our run completed about 12:30 and we had even taken timeout for a late morning coffee at Kalorama . A pleasant trip all up and glad to have made our contribution .

We were supposed to deliver in the Peninsula area but our name wasn ’ t even there , so we ended up delivering 11 trees in the Mount Waverley area which worked out OK . We marked all the addresses on our Melways and then could make a trip plan – simple but it worked . We enjoyed the experience and glad it was not raining !!
Happy to help again if we are available A big thank you to all participants . Peter & Nancy Miller ( 182 )
