Stress (Continued from page 26)
is, how are you feeling and why. This begins the
stressor identification process.
from presenting themselves, but you can choose
what attitude you are going respond with.
Exercise. Exercise helps reduce stress. Exercise
has a two-fold value in that while you are
physically decreasing your stress, you can also
disconnect and spend that time destressing
mentally also. Use that 30 minutes or an hour
just to relax and rest your mind from the daily
routine.
Laugh, Laugh, Laugh! Laughing is a great way of
destressing! Laughter is also a way to boost the
immune system and decrease the stress hormones. We need to take a lesson from children,
they laugh all the time. Experiencing true laughter leaves you not only feeling better, but it can
also give you clarity of mind. Take time today for
a good belly laugh, you won’t regret it.
Take Time To Plan. Time is a commodity, that
once lost, you can never regain. Those who take
the time to plan tend to be less prone to stress.
Don’t wait until the last day of a deadline before
you get started on a project or file your taxes.
With smart phones, tablets etc, try to keep your
time organized to that you can be more productive
and also not miss anything important because you
are relying on your mind which can become full of
distractions.
Choose Your Attitude. You can’t stop a bird from
flying over your head, but you can stop them from
building a nest. You can’t stop circumstances
