LOCATION/DESCRIPTION: Early departure for members wanting a more leisurely transit to Marree for the East Meets West & West Meets East Simpson
crossings.
Day 1: Travel the Western Hwy to Ballarat and then the Sunraysia to Avoca. From there we’ll travel via St Arnaud and take in the Silo Trail (Rupanyup, Sheep Hills,
Brim, Patchewollock) before stopping overnight at the Walpeup Wayside stop. (495km)
Day 2: Travel via Pinaroo, Loxton, Morgan, Burra and Peterborough to Orroroo and some sightseeing. Camping fees apply at Orroroo – powered only available =
$25. Dews meats 10 – 2 daily (590km)
Day 3: Via Johnburg, Carrington, Cradock, Hawker and then into the Flinders Ranges. Camp overnight at Koolamon or Brachina East (200km)
Day 4: Some sightseeing – geological trail, Blinman, Parachilna Gorge. Bush camp in Parachilna Gorge. (65km)
Day 5: Exit the Flinders Ranges. Quench the thirst at the Parachilna Pub then to Leigh Creek for supplies/fuel before detouring into Farina to have a look around
before heading onto Marree and meeting up with everyone else at the Drover’s Run caravan park. (197km)
MEETING ADDRESS: 7 – 11 outbound on the Western Ring Rd, just after you come off the Westgate Freeway – look for the golden arches!

We can store campers/vans at the Drover’s Run caravan park free of charge for the duration of the Simpson Crossing. Anyone wanting to trickle power into their
