One of the most important aspects of four-wheel driving is the difference be-
tween driving on bitumen and the special skills required to use your vehicle in
true off road condi ons.
The Driver Training Courses are designed to increase driver skills in all aspects
of four-wheel driving, from recovery techniques to environmental care, tech-
nical knowledge, safety and even driving skills !
The Club runs a number of courses including:
Proficiency 4WD Driving - Cost $120.00
• Minimum Driver Training level required for club trips
• No prior experience required—Suitable for complete novices
• Suitable for standard 4WD or AWD vehicles
• Weekday evening theory and one weekend day prac cal
Proficiency PLUS 4WD Skills Weekend - Cost $160.00
• Must have completed Proficiency Course
• Open to individuals and couples for same cost
• All Terrain tyres recommended
• Learn Winching basics, Chainsaw Safety, Snatch recoveries, Tyre changing,
jacking vehicles on inclines, towing skills, mechanical maintenance, using
an exhaust jack and naviga on
• Complete weekend prac cal
Proficiency PLUS Naviga"on - Cost $70.00
• Learn the basics of map reading and naviga on skills
• Theory on one weekday evening
Proficiency PLUS Trip Planning—FREE
• Learn how to plan and run club trips
• Theory on one weekday evening
Proficiency PLUS Winch Recovery - $120.00
• Must have completed the Proficiency and 4WD Skills Weekend
• Winching safety
• Learn how to spool a winch cable
• Rigging techniques for best winch performance
• Weekday evening theory and one weekend day prac cal
Advanced 4WD Driving - $160
Accredited Chain Saw Course - $250 (Refresher $125)
