TRIP REPORTS
Wednesday July 10th
We had an early pack and continued
southeast past Frome Downs Station, where
Alan had worked with a university on a mega
fauna - dinosaur dig some years ago. We next
stopped at Waukaringa ruins, an old gold
mining town. Very interesting ruins,
especially the chimney and underground
water tank remnants from the Alma and
Victoria Mine. Well worth the visit.
We then continued to Yunta for fuel and
lunch. Alan had agreed to take CK to Broken
Hill so she could catch a bus back to the North
Coast of NSW. The rest of the group
continued into the Dangalli Conservation Park
and Chowitia region reserve. After a scenic
drive through the parks we said our goodbyes
at the intersection of the Wentworth -
Renmark back road.
