MUSTER 2018 TRIP REPORT

Saturday 31st March 2018

BULLTOWN SPUR/COLLINGWOOD SPUR LOOP

Trip Reports

We had a delayed start due to the numbers traveling and other groups getting off, but we finally moved off and trough Dargo. Aired down at the start of Bulltown Spur track. The track is easy going till you cross McMillans Rd, the declines gets very steep on Bulltown Spur Tk. It’s so steep and tight that we had to wait several times for oncoming vehicles that were coming up the hill, as they have the right of way.

Getting towards the bottom of the track and into the river sections, we came across another group attempting to climb the hill with full tire pressure. (They had no idea.)

We waited for them to pass on a small side track and preceded into the twenty some river crossings of the Crooked River towards Talbotville. We came across one Range Rover Evoke with road tyres trying to tackle the river crossings looking for a camp site, mother and daughter with no radio or communications and no idea where their camp was. They were told along the river??

We arrived at Talbotville for some lunch and a look around, the campsite was packed at this time. Lots of campers came in overnight.

We crossed the river to get to Crooked River Track and travelled through some more river crossings to the Collinwood Spur turn off. Bunched up again and took on the steep climb up to the helli pad. With the great weather, the views were awesome. You could see for miles. Such a beautiful country. More photos were taken.

Then continued back to Bulltown Spur TK and right towards Grant Rd and Dargo High Plains rd back to Dargo and camp.

Had a great trip with all difficult driving and enjoying the scenery, the views are just the best and the tracks are always a challenge but fun. Back in time for activities and l think all enjoyed their time on the tracks with us. We loved running the trip.
