Trip Reports
An addition to the Trip Procedure for Trip Leaders:
S32 TIME CREDITS:
Clause 1: Time Credits may be awarded when the convoy leaves an overnight stop
before the official leaving time (as nominated by the Trip Leader).
This clause is to be read in conjunction with the below listed sub-clauses for
Section 32.
Sub-Clauses:
(a) Time Credits will be given by the Trip Leader for each completed minute of the time of early departure, earlier than the nominated departure time, by the whole convoy.
(b) Persons seeking a Time Credit must raise the point with the Trip Leader within the day, otherwise the Time Credit is forfeit.
(c) Credits cannot be allocated on consecutive days.
(d) Credits can be requested to be applied to a late start, at a maximum of 5 minutes per day.
(e) All accumulated credits will be forfeit at the end of each Sunday.
(f) Time Credits will be deducted from the accumulated total for:
(1) Late departure from overnight stop.
(2) Early arrival of designated time of morning-tea stop.
(g) The above sub-clauses do not have any bearing on credits or “brownie points” in the domestic area.
A trip to the Pilbara, an exciting proposition, and for the Trip Leaders this to complete travelling “Round the Block”.
TIPS for future four-wheel drive adventurers:
- If you are planning to see both Karijini National Park, and Millstream-Chichester
National Park; ensure you do Millstream-Chichester National Park first.
- The cars were serviced in Exmouth, and the service was excellent; at Exmouth Service Centre and Towing, 6 Koolinda Way, Exmouth WA 6707. Telephone 08 9949 4001 Mobile 0408 491 138.
- In Exmouth, pick up a discount card before you fill up at Exmouth Fuel Supplies, Lot 617, Nimitz Street, Exmouth WA 6707, Telephone 08 9949 1051; and get a 5 cent per litre discount.
- Do not try to stay at Carrang Station near Steep Point. Ignore their web-site. It is closed to tourists.
- In Newman stay at the Oasis Caravan Park, where you can get a good buffet meal, at a reasonable cost; and you are invited to take a doggy-bag of food for tomorrow.
- Be aware, if travelling in Central Australia near Financial Year End, the Communities service stations close for a 24 hour period for stocktake.
- For camping in Cape Range National Park, you must book well in advance of your arrival.
