The DTU ran 8 courses with a total of 50 students in the 2019/2020 club year.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we have had to postpone 7 courses. We do apologize for this.
Peter Thomas and Helen Mandziejewski are progressing well through the DTU trainee process. Thank you Peter and
Helen, for all your hard work this last 12 months. Peter is ready and will be assessed very shortly. Brian Hay has also
approached the DTU team to want to assist in the group. He will join us in training events and will be getting registered
with FWDV soon as a trainee.
2020 saw the re-commencement of the chainsaw course. Ian Hastie was able to get the course up again and will be
run and signed off by FWDV. We hope that they will continue either later this year or early next year.
We will be reviewing all the course that are run by the DTU in the next few months to ensure they are in compliance
with FWDV's guidelines as well as relevant to the current demographic of the club.
