TRIP REPORTS At this point, Warnage noticed his engine had not enjoyed the climb and was expelling substantial steam. Although we were very close to the Lodge, Warnage decided the best course was to return his vehicle home and Prasad joined him. Everyone else headed to the Lodge and setup in the bunk rooms and kitchen. After lunch we decided to head further north in search of a decent slope for some snow play and tobogganing. Having found a good spot, I managed to wedge my vehicle on compacted snow and needed Tony to pull me out and then returned the favour when Tony found himself in the identical situation straight after. A fun hour or so was had by all building snowmen and throwing snowballs. The plan for Sunday was to attempt to get to the summit of Mt Kent. This peaks about 5km from the top of Billy Goat Bluff Track. We headed out along the Moroka Road and as we climbed to MacFarlane Saddle, the snow became deeper and deeper. At the saddle (1500m altitude) the snow was about 2 feet deep. Another group of younger drivers seemed to have stayed the night at the saddle and took off in front of us cutting a very nice track.
