The booking was held onto right to the last moment in case the restrictions lifted, and they did such that 20 people could gather together, but there was still a ban on communal facilities, so unfortunately there was no trip this year. However, it was pointed out to me that there had been no trip report for last year’s trip, so for those who missed their early winter high country jaunt, here’s a look back to last year. they probably wouldn’t be needed. This proved to be correct despite significant amounts of snow. We met on Saturday morning at the Officer BP ready for a 7.30am departure. From here we headed up to Licola for morning tea, fuel top up and anti-gel being added by many. We then headed north up the Tamboritha Road, airing down at the end of the sealed road and again at the lookout about 10 minutes from the Lodge. As there was significant snow falls in the week or two before Queen’s Birthday, the lead up to the trip was marked with many questions about snow chains and diesel anti-gel. Being my first trip as leader, I consulted the more experienced among the group (thanks Tony & Peter) who suggested if a couple of people had chains, then that the convoy would be fine, but
