PRESIDENT’S REPORT

February 2018

Welcome all to 2018. We all look forward to a wonderful year ahead for each and every member as well as for the club.

First off, I would like to welcome our newest committee members and ask for the club members to give their full support to Virginia Gilhooly (Membership Secretary) and Trevor Smith (Editor). Thanks to Trudi and Colin for all their work in these positions prior to this.

We have had some issues with the magazine recently Some of the issues are due to lack of

input tothe editor for publication. I would like to encourage everyone to write or find and submit articles for publication that may be of interest to other members. These may include trip reports, 4WD or camping related technical articles, bush recipes or ideas, related humourous articles, for sale items, other articles of interest, etc. For trip leaders, remember that the trip is not complete until the trip report has been submitted. Person of the Year (POTY) points and truck badges are applied based on the report publication. Submission closes for the next magazine on the first day of every second month.

Our committee held the annual strategy meeting in January. Refer to the Vice President report for more details on this.

The Victorian 4WD show is on Sunday 18th of February, at Lardner Park from 9:00am - 4:30pm.

Alan Sellars has been preparing for our stand and is setting up new displays with the help of a few others. It would be great if you can make it to attend and support Alan and his crew and see what else the show has on display. Refer to the TeamApp calendar for more details.

The Muster is fast approaching and the cut off date for registration is 21 st February so if you haven’t signed up and paid yet, get your applications and payments in so you don’t miss out. It is well organised already and looking like we already have a big attendance signed up.

The two Hi Country trips planned for Australia Day weekend 2018 went ahead and again were well attended. Look out for trip reports for more detail on these.

As usual, our calendar is looking like we need more trips. If you are thinking of running one, plan it and submit the form using the members area links from the public pajeroclub.com.au website. It is not too hard and experienced trip leaders are always willing to help to get you started if needed.

Registration forms are available for the 2018 Pajero Challenge to be held on 21 st April. For individual teams, the event is as serious as you want to make it. These can be fun if you make it that way.

The February general meeting is to be held on Wednesday 21 st . I hope to see many of you there.
