As per the last few years, Damian organised his usual Australia Day trip to the Eaglevale camp in the Wonnangatta/Dargo area of the Victorian high country. Due to work commitments, he was unable to get back in time and spent his Australia Day in the US. That meant he needed someone to run the trip and nominated me. So below are some reports and details of our trip.

Renzo and Suzanne headed up on the weekend prior to secure our usual spot by the river and enough space for everyone as they arrived. Rod Bateman arrived during the day on Wednesday followed by myself at 1:30am Thursday. That wasn’t my plan but I got away late after work and then had to spend a couple hours on the side of the Crooked River Road, using torchlight, to repair my suspension that decided to come apart as I rounded a corner. It is a good thing I always carry tools and spares. After my repairs, my car performed well for the rest of the weekend.

Most people arrived on the Thursday with some arriving Friday.

We went on trips as detailed below, sat around the camp fire, cooled off in the river, ate lots of snacks and a few red wines and other drinks as desired, cooked pizza and had great fellowship with each other.

Thanks to Damian for organising this trip.
