PRESIDENT’S REPORT PRESIDENT’S REPORT April 2017 A belated Happy Easter to you all, I trust you all had a relaxing Easter break, enjoying the company of your family & fellow club members. Hello to all Pajero Club members ‘AND’, a very special ‘Welcome’ to all new members who have just joined the Pajero Club family in the last month. How do I gain the most out of the club you might ask? Easy answer, get involved. Book a driving course through our great Driver Training unit. Check out the course dates and times in this edition. There are always club trips and events to be part of which are advertised through Team App, but most importantly come to the mon thly meeting. Each monthly meeting will put you in touch with experienced club members with a myriad of knowledge and ideas that they are happy to share. 25th ANNIVERSARY - MITSUBISHI PAJERO CHALLENGE 2017 For those that don’t have ‘Face Book’ my comments read. ‘The Mitsubishi Pajero Challenge 2017 is done and dusted and the feedback (and comments) from competitors and helpers was all very positive. Congratulations to all the winning competitors who have taken home some spectacular prizes. The Moonambel community once again showed their support by providing a delicious dinner and breakfast for the competitors and helpers. The time and effort put in by the local Moonambel community is very much appreciated. WICEN who provided the communication, once again did an amazing job ensuring all competitors where accounted for throughout the event. Our resident Challenge Doc – Doctor Ross Wines was on hand and fortunately was not required. Thank you to both WICEN and Doctor Ross for their time given. The track workers ‘Ian Salmon, Peter Thomas and Stuart Gay’ under the co-ordination of Greg Sinclair put together some challenging sections which kept all competitors on their toes. Their time and financial sacrifice is very much appreciated. I have left the best until last – the Mitsubishi Pajero Challenge would not have been possible without the committed support of our sponsors. ENGEL, NAVA, AUSSIE DISPOSALS provided the sponsorship of the 3 sections with MITSUBISHI providing the naming rights sponsorship. Thank you to all helpers who provided their time and setting up the Moonambel Oval. Congratulations to Lael – our 2017 Challenge co-ordinator, who took on a big task with very little experience. The outcome shows us all, that by putting your hand up to support your club can be most beneficial. As the Exceed magazine is going ‘Bi monthly’, your annual fees have been reduced by $20.00 to $115.00. Currently, $48.00 of your fees go to 4WD Vic leaving the balance to fund the running of the club. As you are also aware, the club has a good reserve fund invested in long term accounts. (Refer to the Treasurers Report). The committee is diligently using a small part of these funds for club members’ activities and incentives. E.G. – Person Of The Year incentive program, purchase of the Defibrillator and financial support to community services such as the Royal Flying Doctor. In summary, the Bi Monthly Exceed will see greater input of club related stories, trip reports and more interesting 4WD’ing articles. The committee will constantly monitor the outcome on a regular basis. Well that’s it from me – well almost! Just in case Easter wasn’t a long enough break – then enjoy what could be for some another 4 day break taking in Anzac day. Safe travels – look forward to seeing you all at the next Pajero Club general meeting. Ralph Longley #829 PRESIDENT [email protected] 3 Vol 34 No. 3 - April 2017
