Left late for Cape York due to family issues . Two participants . Did 12 of the 15 recommended Hema trips . Melbourne to Cooktown via the inland route . Planned to do the tracks in the right going to the Cape and those on the right returning . Spoke and provided exceptional trip details and places visited and those not . Only one track on the way up that would cause most an issue . Usher beach not worthwhile . Iron Range National Park was exceptional and we stayed with people we had met previously . Qld roads are roads . Tracks are not graded and very ordinary . Very different classifications of tracks to that by Victoria . Palmer River Goldfields that hardest track I have ever done . Took two days to do 70 klms . Hema Cape York was the Bible for the trip . Camps Australia , Wikipoints other resources used . Would not have done a lot different if had time again . Qld take overweight vehicles very seriously .
Canning Stock route next trip around September . Total trip time some two months . Need minimum four weeks . If you need any advice on planning a trips contact me .
