4WD Vic Delegate : Tony Jambu updated members on the following topics related to Four Wheel Drive Victoria ( FWDV ):
1 . FWDV Chain Saw Courses – Tony expressed several areas of concern related to the process used by FWDV in running their chain saw course . The club currently has two members part way through the course with no indication at this point of when they can complete their training . Additionally , FWDV conduct these courses on a Club-by-Club basis making it difficult for Club ’ s to get the critical mass required to run a course . Furthermore , FWDV run chain saw courses for external bodies that seem to get priority over members of their affiliated Clubs . Tony will be following these issues up further with FWDV .
2 . Track Clearing with Parks Victoria – This event is scheduled to take place on 16-17 October 2021 in Far East Gippsland . This is going ahead ( covid permitting ). Helpers required .
3 . Storm Recovery work – Opportunities continue in the Dandenong and Sth Gippsland ( Yinnar ) areas . Tony indicated that we would continue to assist subject to Covid restrictions .
4 . Blood bank challenge – Four wheel drive clubs across Victoria are uniting to give blood an plasma donations in the inaugural FWDV Blood Challenge . The Pajero Club is currently leading the challenge with 5 donations to date .
5 . Camp host – Following last months meeting Tony as received a few questions about the camp host program run by Parks Victoria . To assist with member questions , Tony has invited Andrew Mortlock ( a club member ) to present about the program at a member ’ s meeting sometime after the AGM . Andrew has been a camp host over many years and has a lot of experience with the program .
6 . Management Vehicles Only ( MVO ) tracks - Brian Hay presented on this topic a few months ago and this raised some questions from members . Neil Phillips has since contacted FWDV to clarify if the present list of MVO tracks is current . The advice received is that it is , but they are reviewing the MVO tracks now and present list may change . Tony will update members and the Club ’ s web pages once FWDV completes their review .
Digital Transformation - Terry mentioned briefly that the Club Digital Transformation program is now complete . He will present more formally at the next meeting however , once Wild Apricot and the Pajero Forum were transitioned to the new platforms , the final action was to shut down the Amazon Web Service ( AWS ) which was done this week !!! Although not visible to many , a big milestone . Terry also mentioned that each committee members email has now been consolidated from two address to one . This will greatly simplify the email set up for new committee members , eliminate confusion and improve the administration and security of the Club ’ s official email going forward .
