Pajero Club : President ’ s Report December 2021
Welcome to my final report for 2021 . In this update I ’ ll give the COVID-19 topic a break as I ’ m sure we ’ ve all had more than enough of that ! Instead , I ’ ll focus on a brief summary of highlights we still achieved despite a very challenging year .
Highlights of the Year
Iconic Pajero Club Trips :
Australia Day & Talbotville & Eaglevale trips successfully completed Portland Sand Dune trips completed Muster at Tolmie – a great success : o Attended by the most members we get at any Club event o New trip leaders ran trips with the help of seasoned trip leaders
Together again :
Return to in-person monthly member meetings A great turnout at the annual Christmas Party at Jells Park Resumption of Driver Training , with the Driver Training Unit working full weekends to help clear a backlog of training for new members
Club Awards :
Ironbark Award – won by Tony Jambu POTY Awards – updated to recognise the contributions of partners & won by Dani & Mitch Watkins Clubman Award – won by David Boutchard
Despite the retirement of the main Pajero model , the Pajero Sport continues to help the name of our Club remain aligned with a popular and very capable 4WD car .
The club continues to have a steady increase in new members . We ’ re a family orientated Club which is a very important part of why we ’ re one of the largest 4WD clubs in Victoria .
There are many people that selflessly provide their time to support the Club from the committee , sub-committees , kitchen staff , door ushers , IT administrators , Ironbark Award support , Exceed Magazine collating & distribution , social media administration , members being Guest Speakers and live-streaming monthly meetings and more IT improvements with the development of a prototype Trip Reports and online Trip Library . Thank you all for your time supporting our Club .
I ’ ve especially been very thankful to be with my family without masks and no-limits to how many people can be in my home . I ’ ve been given a timely reminder to slow down and just be in the moment with the ones I love .
