Tyres It ’ s funny how anal 4wders are regarding tyres and I ’ m not any different . Although my reasoning is that the modern tyre that comes standard on your vehicle have improved no end over the last 20 years . Saying that and I have taken a lot of stock test vehicles out in the scrub and never had a flat tyre . Lucky or not ? I ’ ll put it down to having the right tyre pressure in when I ’ m doing work in the bush . In a sense it comes down to the dollars , if you can afford new tyres for offroad then by all means do it . But if the budget is tight maybe run the standards a little longer until the budget allows for an upgrade . Now there has to be a little bit of common sense here as well . If your eyeballing a trip and your running standard tyres and the weather could turn iffy over the days then ask your Trip Leader for advice . Running around with stock tyres in a mud scenario is like taking a knife to a gunfight …. you are going to lose !
