� How many lakes , created by volcanic activity , are there between Geelong and Mt Gambier ? I have no idea , but they are hundreds and they are everywhere when you slow down enough to look . Many of them are in old volcano craters .
� Which river used to flow directly south from the Grampians into Bass Straight but now flows west because of volcanic eruptions ? Wannon River .
� Hopkins Falls ( near Warrnambool ) isn ’ t the tallest water fall in Victoria ( only an 11m drop ), nor does it have the greatest water flow . But it does rank highly on one measure of waterfalls . What measure puts this waterfall as the “ biggest in Victoria ”? Ans : At 90m wide it is reputed to be the widest waterfall in Victoria . Another winner for this region of Victoria .
