MEMBER TRIP REPORT

Day 2 – Sunday 31 st October
Left camp about 9.00am and headed to Wingan Inlet campground . The fire that went through the Croajingolong NP was pretty intense as the regrowth was nowhere as advanced as we imagined . It was a stark reminder of the fury and the problem for the people of Mallacoota . We were pleasantly surprised to find the camp area was untouched but there have been repair works done to the boardwalk to “ Fly Beach ”. The walking track to “ Elusive Lake ” appeared to be open , however the “ Cicada Track ” and the “ Gale Hill Track ” were still closed .
After lunch we went back to Cann River then down to the Point Hicks road but it was still closed at the Tamboon Inlet junction . The weather had changed for the better by now and we only saw sunshine from here on .
Back to Cann River and another counter tea at the pub followed by another campfire and some soothing orchestral music by our famous “ Croajingolong Trio ”

Day 3 – Monday 1 st November Today we planned to check out Mallacoota so we headed out down the Princes Highway and discovered the Genoa Falls . Not much water flowing but a very pretty place . We saw Bearded Dragons basking in the sun .
