Trip Summary This trip was conducted in the Grampians National Park . Day one was set as the arrival and set-up camp day . Days two , three and four were spent out in the Park , enjoying the tracks , looking at the scenery and walking to scenic spots ; the longest distance walked to any one point was 2.1 km and return . The 4WD tracks and the scenery were the primary reason for the trip . Day five was for packing up camp and departing for home and other locations .

“ Track for Day 3 , 185km ” Some track duplication may not be discernible on the above charts but were necessary due to road closures . The overall distance covered on the trip was a little in excess of 1000km , depending on origin of the journey , but around 500km in the Grampians National Park , which was somewhat extended beyond normal due to road closures .
Fuel & Supplies The base camp was set in the Halls Gap Gardens caravan park , on the outskirts of Halls Gap , where ample supplies of reasonably priced fuel and shopping is available , including access to food and alcohol outlets and various tourist attractions . Fuel and supplies are also available at the nearby town of Stawell which is a 15 minute drive from Halls Gap . Fuel is also available at Wartook on the Western side of the Park but considerably further away .
