MEMBER TRIP REPORT

via Jamieson Licola Rd , through Jamison and then back to Tolmie . It was an easy road out , so Martin and his son were happy to travel on their own . The rest of the group arrived at Granny Flat camping area for lunch . Granny Flat camping area is on the Jamieson River and is a great place to free camp . However , as it has 2WD access , it can get very busy . So if planning on camping there , be sure to arrive early .
After lunch , we had a short river crossing to continue our trip . Onward up Master Track . Then onto Symes Track and and the Running Creek Camping Area for a brief stretch of the legs .
After the Running Creek Camping Area rest , we took a few unnamed and ‘ knarly ’ tracks that were definitely the most challenging of the day . All cars made it without fuss , and I believe enjoyed the scramble for this short section of the trip . From there we made our way along Three Chains Track and then onto Howqua Track . Onwards to Merrijig whilst most went back to Tolmie . Some members decided to make a fuel and ice cream stop in Mansfield .
I believe a good day was had by all with only the one recovery needed .
It is the hope that trip participants that haven ’ t run trips in the past will be encouraged to do so in the future . It ’ s worth it just to get out of the dust .
