MEMBER TRIP REPORT

The overgrown area of Royston Range Track finished and became No . 6 Track which was also lacking use . I hit a dead end on this track so turned around and went along an alternate part of No6 . Track , ending up on a far more pleasant – as in not overgrown - part of Royston Range Track . We then arrived at the Herbs Track and Herbs Road intersection . We headed north ( straight ahead ) to Morris Lookout . It was raining most of the day , so the views from Morris Lookout were clouded in rain however you could still see Lake Eildon . This would be a nice view on a sunny day .
We left Morris Lookout and headed back down to Herbs Track and then arrived at the Rubicon Camping areas . We stopped at one of the Kendalls camp grounds , aired up and headed home .
Apart from the partial closure of Royston Road and my unplanned and ‘ interesting ’ detour off Hobin Gap Road to Royston Range Track , this is an easy day trip that I will lead again without the overgrown section of Royston Range Track . I will also look at adding another section after Morris Lookout to Dry Creek Hill Road , then Jim Track and Mallet track down to the Jerusalem Creek Campground for one night of camping , before heading home via a couple of tracks the next day .
