the wet weather section and proceeded through a newly formed logging coup to the base of the hill . The hill was rocky so shouldn ’ t be too bad . I made it up in one go although it was a bit hairy near the top where you do a dog leg on the steepest and rockiest section of the track .
Gerrie managed to stop here and had a couple of goes but got up ok in the end . Unfortunately , Alberto had been coming up behind Gerrie and Elaine and had to stop on the worst section of track . Getting going again was not easy and he eventually got crossed up big time so it was time to winch as every attempt to straighten ended up worse than before . A suitable tree was selected and the cable rolled out from the winch but the angle of the pull was around 45 degrees which led us to find a major design fault in his flashy ECB bullbar . The rollers of the fairlead are actually located behind the front panel of the bullbar which all looks very nice except when you have the winch cable pulling on the side rollers it gouges out a half inch groove through the face of the alloy bar . While winching him sideways we managed to pop his tyre off its rim so while the vehicle was still anchored to the tree , we jacked it up and reset it on the bead . We were soon on our way and as it was time for lunch , we decided that we may as well head back to Valley farm to have it . We arrived back for a late lunch and had another brief play on the course before packing up our now dry tents and heading for home .
