Notification of Temporary Membership changes. Dear Member, We have introduced several changes to the Club’s Temporary Membership policy and processes prompted primarily from recommendations presented by the Temporary Membership review team late last year. These changes are centred around making it easier and cheaper for you to bring family and friends along on club trips when they travel with you in your vehicle. We now have two categories of Temporary Membership. Temporary Membership Category 1 – Traveling in a Members Vehicle Temporary Membership Category 2 – Traveling in a Non-Members Vehicle The key features of these new categories are: Category 1 Temporary Membership – Traveling in a Members Vehicle:      Designed for a member to bring family and friends along in the member’s vehicle. There is no fee payable for Temporary Members under this category. No limits on the number of trips that can be attended. New simplified application form. The temporary member may drive by agreement from the Member and Trip Leader. Category 2 Temporary Membership:     Designed for potential new members to attend a trip as an introduction to the Club. A fee of $20.00 per trip per person, whether a driver or passenger. However, there is a single fee for a family of $20.00. Limits - in general Category 2 Temporary Members will be restricted to 2 trips of 5 days or less (excluding the Pajero Challenge). After this the Club expects that the Temporary Member will join the club to continue to enjoy the benefits offered. New Category 2 - Temporary Membership application form. Other key features of Temporary Membership generally:       Temporary Membership is only valid for the period of the trip applied for - a new application must be made for each trip undertaken for both categories. One application is required for each person traveling as a Temporary Member, whether a fee is charged or not. All Temporary Members (Category 1 & 2) will be registered with 4WDV for affiliation and insurance to cover each trip (see FWDV Insurance Program 2019-2020 via Team App | Documents). All Temporary Membership applications must be approved by the Trip Leader before the trip’s commencement date. Payment for Category 2 members should be made, preferably by direct deposit into the Club account, before the trip. In exceptional circumstances where time does not permit, approval may be obtained from the Trip Leader prior to the trip’s commencement, and the completed form (and payment) provided to the Trip Leader at the commencement of the trip. The Trip Leader has complete discretion to approve or not the attendance of a Temporary Member on a trip. Club Members will have priority for attending a trip over Category 2 Temporary Members.
