Lowest Carbon Dioxide Sequestration and Air Pollution Removal
Figures 19 and 20 highlight areas in Springfield with limited potential for carbon dioxide sequestration and air pollution removal . The maps display shades indicating low tree canopy cover , which reduces the capacity to mitigate carbon emissions and improve air quality naturally . Trees and vegetation play a crucial role in absorbing carbon dioxide and pollutants , contributing to climate change mitigation and better air quality . However , regions with inadequate tree cover experience diminished benefits in these aspects .
