CHANGE OR DROPPING SUBJECTS

Students wishing to change subjects/exam module entries should discuss this with their
subject teacher or Key Stage Leader. Key Stage Leaders must be notified of subject changes
and will have the relevant documentation that needs to be completed before advising the
Examinations Officer.
The same applies to students who wish to drop a subject and not continue that course of
study.
AWARDING BODIES:

The school uses the following awarding bodies: Edexcel, WJEC and AQA.
CANDIDATE NAME:
•
Candidates are entered under the name format of Surname, Forename + additional names
(optional), e.g., SMITH:MICHAEL.
CANDIDATE NUMBER:
•

Each candidate has a four-digit candidate number. This is the number you will enter on
examination papers.
Candidate numbers and identification cards will be placed on each desk in the examination
room. Candidates need to ensure that they are seated at the correct table with and to check
the cards on their table.
UCI:
•
In addition to a candidate number, each candidate must have a Unique Candidate Identifier (12
numbers and 1 letter) which is shown on the top of statements of entry. This number will
usually begin with the Centre Number (91515 for pupils registered at DBS) unless you have
transferred from another school that had already issued your UCI. Your UCI is used for
administration purposes and will remain the same for the duration of your secondary schooling.
EQUIPMENT

It is the student’s responsibility to make sure that they have all the correct equipment for their
examinations. Check the regulations in the Notice to Candidates and the information on the
following pages (see FAQs at the end of this booklet).
