AI
aviation events identified, 129 exhibitions and 38 conferences, all mapped by region, timing, and frequency.
This to allow readers to find insights into how markets differ in terms of scale, frequency, and seasonality, across the world.
2. Identifying aviation segments Next, we asked both tools to identify and rank aviation-related segments across exhibitions.
ChatGPT produced an organised list with about 18 categories and 80 segments, useful at first glance, but
when asked to rank them by presence across events, it couldn’ t go further. Without structured data, it could describe trends but not measure them.
The MBB AI Data Scanner went several steps deeper. It extracted segments directly from official show websites, recognised when different terms described the same thing, like“ UAV Systems” and“ Drone Technology”, and grouped them into unified clusters. The output: 1,108 segments identified, 419 appearing in at least two events, and the top 20 ranked by their real presence across exhibitions.
“ While ChatGPT operates on probabilities, the Scanner operates on proof”
There’ s a common misconception that AI can replace human research. In reality, AI is only as good as the expertise behind it. The MBB AI Data Scanner exists because our consultants spent years doing this work manually, learning where to look, what to trust, and how to teach the system to recognise what really matters.
Comparing ChatGPT and the MBB AI Data Scanner is somewhat like comparing a journalist and a researcher. Both use language, but for different purposes. ChatGPT helps you explore ideas. The Scanner helps you measure markets from data.
From small to large exhibition organisers, show and portfolio directors, the MBB AI Data Scanner and its Industry Sector Report transform weeks of research into a comprehensive, 30-page analysis, delivered in just one week, with faster access to reliable insights, clearer visibility of market gaps, and greater confidence in data-driven strategy. While this article focused on aviation, the Scanner ' s capabilities extend across dozens of industries. From healthcare and construction to technology and manufacturing. For exhibition groups with diverse portfolios, this cross-pollination of insights offers considerable value. A successful hybrid event model in one sector might adapt well to another. Geographic patterns in industrial events might predict opportunities in consumer shows.
The Report does what it was built to do, make research faster and smarter. But its real strength is the human touch. It’ s an AI-empowered consulting report that brings together the speed and analytical power of AI with the experience and insights of human consultants. EW
