The second half of 2024 promises to deliver a programme just as full as the first . It all kicked off again with the Grilling and BBQ Championships from 27 to 28 July , which followed on from the success of the previous years . More than 120 teams from all over the world arrived in Stuttgart , with 100 exhibitors creating a festival buzz across 20,000 sqm of trade fair grounds .
There are also many top-class specialist trade fairs lined up for the second half of the year .
AMB , the international exhibition for metalworking , in September , sold out . Other highlights include interbad , südback and SÜFFA , as well as a platform for future technologies formed by hy-fcell , Quantum Effects and VISION , which are taking place in
parallel for the first time .
Messe Stuttgart has successfully expanded its German portfolio in recent years to increase participation at the Stuttgart location . This strategy has proven to be particularly successful in 2024 .
There were two events held in northern Germany at the start of the year . REISEN & CARAVANING Hamburg , in collaboration with Hamburg Messe and Congress , was very well received by visitors .
At the same time , NORTEC Hamburg , organised for the first time by Messe Stuttgart in cooperation with the German Machine Tool Builders ’ Association ( VDW ), saw almost 5,000 visitors in attendance .
In November , the CMT line-up will close the year with Touristik & Caravaning Leipzig .

Messe Stuttgart is also further strengthening its involvement through its cooperation with the Bundesverband Dentalhandel e . V . ( federal association for the German dental trade ). Well-known trade fairs for dentistry and dental technology will be taking place under the “ infotage FACHDENTAL ” banner at four different locations in Germany . The first events that took place in Leipzig and Munich in March were promising . During the second half of the year , further events will be taking place in Stuttgart ( October ) and Frankfurt ( November ).
In April , SACHSENBACK returned to the Dresden trade fair halls for the first time since the pandemic . The trade fair was opened by Minister President Michael Kretschmer and drew 7,000 visitors .
Things are also looking positive internationally : in 2024 , there are 13 trade fairs taking place in China , India , Canada , Thailand and Türkiye . The first half of the year included highlights such as MOLDEX India , FASTNEX and LogiMAT India , which all took place in India for the first time . IBAKTECH in Türkiye was also very successful , as well as R + T Asia in Shanghai .
Finally , Messe Stuttgart is always working on reducing its carbon footprint and focusing on achieving its ambitious “ Energy Masterplan ”. This involves a sustainable strategy for the use of renewable energies .
A key element here is the use of photovoltaic systems . One measure already underway is the installation of a new photovoltaic system on the roof of the administration building , which is set to be completed this year . This installation will make an important contribution to securing a sustainable supply of energy for the administration of Messe Stuttgart . Photovoltaic systems are already installed on the roofs of the halls and the Bosch multi-storey car park . EW
