UFI awards its Congress to Koelnmesse

FI , the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry , will stage its 91st UFI Global Congress in Cologne , Germany 20-23 November .
The Congress will be hosted in the new Confex Congress Centre at Koelnmesse , one of the most modern trade fair centres in Europe . As a Messe in the heart of Europe , the venue occupies the third-largest exhibition centre in Germany and , with nearly 400,000sqm of indoor and outdoor space , is among the top ten in the world .
With more than one million inhabitants , Cologne is the fourth largest city in Germany and is one of the most important and popular tourist destinations in Europe .
CEO of Koelnmesse , Gerald Böse , says : “ In 2024 , we are celebrating 100 years of Koelnmesse . Thus , it ’ s the year when tradition and the future come together in a very special way . The UFI Global Congress is the “ must attend ” event for the exhibition industry , as the largest global meeting of the year , which gathers hundreds of industry leaders from around the world to network and to learn . A testament to the global footprint of UFI , it takes place in different regions around the world each year .
The UFI Global Congress takes place in October or November every year in trade show destinations around the world . Following the 2022 congress in Muscat ( Sultanate of Oman ), the event moved on to Las Vegas for 2023 . Other hosts have included Rotterdam ( The Netherlands ), Bangkok ( Thailand ), St Petersburg ( Russia ), Johannesburg ( South Africa ), Shanghai ( China ), Milan ( Italy ), Bogota ( Colombia ), and Seoul ( South Korea ).
Germany – one of the world ’ s top three exhibition markets – has hosted the UFI Congress several times already , last in 2002 , when the event was held in Munich .
