EW explores some regional news highlights in the global exhibitions industry
Europe – IEG Arabia, a subsidiary of IEG Middle East and organiser of Dubai Active and Dubai Muscle Show, has secured the right to organise the Fire & Safety Expo and the Health & Wellness Expo. They will be held 6-8 November 2026 at Dhahran Expo, Al Khobar, in Saudi Arabia, as part of the 16th World Firefighters Games 2026. The Games run 5-13 November 2026, and could be the largest edition in its history, with 7,000 athletes, 200,000 spectators and participants from 70 countries.
Asia – The Board of Directors of R. E.
Rogers India Pvt. Ltd., has appointed its CEO Sudhir Dhavan as new managing director of the logistics company and member of the Board. Ravinder Sethi will be the executive chairman and remain actively involved on the Board and in the company. The other Board members, Kiran Sethi and Raj Sharma, will also continue in their existing positions. Sudhir, who has 30 years ' experience in the logistics industry, was recently chairman of the International Exhibition Logistics Assocation( IELA).
Europe – UK-based international event organiser RX has appointed Marie Browne as senior vice-president and head of ReedPop. Part of the founding team behind New York Comic Con, she played a key role in creating what would become one of the world’ s biggest fan events, before helping lead the acquisition of Emerald City Comic Con. Most recently, she helped shape RX US’ s growth strategy by expanding the Functional Fabric Fair portfolio. Browne will continue to report to Fernando Fischer, president of Americas, RX.
Middle East – Results of the 37th edition of UFI, The Global Association of the Exhibition Industry’ s Global Exhibition Barometer report show a limited impact of the current situation in the Middle East, with only 14 % of companies globally, and 10 % outside the Gulf Co-operation Council( GCC), reporting a strong negative effect on business at the time of the survey.“ Our barometer indicates that there is no real evidence of a significant knock-on effect from the current Middle East disruption outside the GCC,” the report claimed.
