industry for months to come. As one long-time member reflected:“ Work hard, stay happy. We sometimes lose sight of that in an industry which demands total commitment and consumes personal time. Enjoy this madhouse of an industry”. The IELA Partnering Event, held immediately after the congress( 28-29 June), extended this momentum, offering structured networking that translated into real business opportunities and long-term collaborations for members and non-members alike.
And, as the association continues to evolve, the congress remains its beating heart and a place where the
industry gathers and grows. Logistics may move the world, but it’ s people who move logistics. And once a year, the congress helps to remember why.
Preparing for the future The evolving dynamics of the exhibition logistics industry cannot but affect any strategic direction. Rising operational costs, sustainability demands, and digital transformation are only some of the factors that call for adaptations in services and governance. Member expectations are also shifting, requesting more structured support in areas like education, compliance, and innovation.

As IELA moves into the future, membership engagement remains a top priority. The association is prioritising knowledge-sharing, expanding its educational offerings, and strengthening its role as a connector across regions and generations. Through working groups, digital content, and in-person events, IELA aims to provide members with the tools, insights, and relationships they need to excel.
Looking ahead, IELA’ s congress roadmap includes two confirmed destinations: Sun City, South Africa in 2026, and Gothenburg, Sweden in 2027. The choice of Gothenburg, recently voted by members during the General Assembly, reflects a growing interest in destinations that combine strong infrastructure with a commitment to sustainability and innovation.
With new destinations on the horizon and a renewed focus on member engagement, education, and collaboration, IELA is positioning itself to support the industry through its next chapter. EW
