Why EVS?

This is probably the most common question that anyone would ask me or you as a future volunteer. The next one can be "Why Turkey?". If you are really considering to make a change in your life, this could probably be the best opportunity where you can achieve a lot on a personal and professional level. My answer to the first question is that I have previously been an Erasmus+ exchange student for 2 semesters and have experienced the benefits of being abroad and being on my own in a foreign country, Lithuania. This way I got a chance to live and study in culturallyrich city, met a lot of International and local students, learned more about their cultures and backgrounds and made connections for a lifetime. Most importantly, it was an amazing experience even more because the culture at the Baltic region was quite different from my Balkan culture(and honestly I needed something new, a break, like to get away for a while or have a fresh start somewhere else, in other words to leave my comfort zone, which turned to be my best decision so far).

Hello! My name is Andrijana and I'm from Macedonia. I'm 24, recently graduated IT (no longer! :() student. This is my first EVS experience in Ankara, Turkey. My period of stay here will be shortterm, for 2 months, July and August, and I'm really looking forward to learn new things, integrate in the community and in the office, obtain new friendships, meet people from different cultural backgrounds, and most of all to learn at least a bit Turkish, because I will need it definitely if I want to make my communication easier with the locals.
