2017 MARKS A NEW PHASE FOR TEAM VOLUSIA
As Team Volusia Economic Development Corporation
begins its seventh year of operations, we enter an
exciting phase relative to our ability to compete for new
companies and the jobs and investment they bring.
We are grateful for the leadership of our founding
investors who collaborated to create our public-private
economic development organization in order to raise
the economic vitality of Volusia County by leveraging
the resources and efforts of our entire community.
The early years were focused on raising the visibility of
the community among development professionals
through business outreach and marketing activity.
There also has been a proactive effort to develop
relationships with community partners including cities,
schools, chambers of commerce, utilities and the
business community. The leverage and synergy made
possible by these efforts has supported many impressive
projects. Some of the projects facilitated by Team
Volusia include Teletech, Blue Coast Bakers, World
Class Distribution, Frontier Communications, Total
Quality Logistics, NW Lineman College, Progressive
Ruesch, VyStar Credit Union, and more.
Today, more than 100 public sector and private sector
investors in Team Volusia have raised the bar again,
commissioning a long-range strategic plan to guide our
approach to work within the competitive economic
development arena. It’s a plan born of opinions and

input from a broad range of stakeholders. The Strategy
for Success offers specific tactics for success in:

• Marketing and communications
• Entrepreneurship and innovation

We just wrapped up our most successful year meeting
or exceeding every target metric. We enter our next
phase in a community that is leading the nation in
growth. Our well-qualified and credentialed staff will
participate in more than 25 recruiting events this year.
Additionally, they will host site selectors and C-suite
executives at every opportunity. A new marketing
initiative is also underway – one that will have plenty of
horsepower to elevate our competitive profile domestically
and globally. These and other factors are keeping our
pipeline of project activity stoked at an unprecedented
level.
