can ’ t believe we have been publishing EVOLVE Magazine in the Greater Daytona Region for five years ! When we launched in 2016 , our goal was to shine a light on economic success in Volusia County . I ’ m proud to say , we have achieved that goal over the years , and we continue to do so with each issue .
I appreciate all the kind words I have received since our launch , and I would like to take just a moment to offer a few kind words myself . To the editorial committee , our writers , and the entire behind-the-scenes team , thank you for your hard work and your creativity . I also want to thank our publisher , Howard Holley , for his passion and drive to tell the stories that set our region apart . And I want to thank you for reading EVOLVE . Were it not for our readers , EVOLVE would not be here today .
EVOLVE is ... guess what ... evolving . In the very near future , you will see a greater commitment to providing digital content . There are some exciting things in the works . More to come on that soon .
In the meantime , this issue is all about businesses and how they last . It ’ s focused on people and their passion and how that can lead to legacy .
People like the great “ Gator Bert ” Reames have led the way for so many of us . Bert didn ’ t just chase success , he focused on helping others . That focus is one the common threads I see in the business and leaders we ’ ve focused on in this issue .
As you flip through the pages , I hope you will find other nuggets of wisdom to help you build a business that lasts . Because in the end , though you will find a story in this issue about the Daytona Magic Shop , building and sustaining a business isn ’ t magic .
