From the moment a student steps onto one of the three campuses at St. Johns River State College, a dedicated team awaits to make them feel welcomed, encouraged and supported- every step of the way.

Offering students a pathway to a better life extends beyond engaging instructors and advanced technology. Through a multi-faceted approach, the student experience at SJR State incorporates social connections, proactive guidance, personalized attention, financial provisions and holistic support services. Given the diverse backgrounds of community college students— including firstgeneration, low-income and working adults— this comprehensive support is crucial for student success.

Session, who graduates this fall with his associate degree, discovered early how to make the most of his college experience through utilizing scholarships, online tutoring, leadership opportunities as the Student Government Association president, and traveling to Ireland with the study abroad program.
“ It was life changing,” Sessions said.“ Travel opens your mind to the world.” He said the 10-day excursion led to a new appreciation for other cultures, teamwork and bonding with fellow classmates.“ I made lifelong friends.”
“ Then there’ s the kind of support you need when you’ re not having your Kyan Session
