THE POWER of
Partnership:
The Growing Influence of Co-Manufacturing by Patrick Evans-Hylton
The power of a different kind of partnership is reshaping how products come to life across the country and in Northeast Florida.
Co-manufacturing, once seen as a cost-cutting tactic, has evolved into a smart, strategic move for brands looking to grow, innovate and move quickly.
Across the region, makers of a wide range of goods are teaming up with experienced manufacturers to streamline production, reduce risk and get to market faster without sacrificing quality.
In a place known for its entrepreneurial spirit and coastal ingenuity, co-manufacturing has become more than a behind-the-scenes solution. It’ s a dynamic collaboration: one that lets visionaries dream big while trusted partners handle the heavy lifting.
Dr. Sandra Miles is founder of DSM Initiatives, a training, development and lifestyle consulting firm based in St. Johns County.
DSM Initiatives is the parent company for Miles’ beauty brand, Lumithéa Beauty, which uses comanufacturing in the production of her merchandise.
“ I’ ve always been passionate about self-care, not just as a beauty ritual but as a form of resilience and reflection,” says Miles.
“ I want more people to see self-care as a leadership strategy that helps you show up as the best, most confident version of yourself rather than a self-indulgent luxury. I wanted to create a brand that helps people reconnect with their worth and glow from the inside out.”
Lumithéa, a portmanteau of the words lumière, or light, and thea, or goddess or divine, offers a curated collection of skincare essentials like cleansers, toners, serums and moisturizers.
