JJJ
BOTANICA
KEEPING MUD FEVER AT BAY
FOR OVER A DECADE
W
i nter is fast approaching! Wet,
cold weather, long dark nights
and mud above your ankles...it’s
all just around the corner. And
unfortunately, where there’s winter there’s mud
and where there’s mud, there’s often mud fever.
When it comes to tackling mud fever, you need
to know that the mode of attack you use, works.
Skin care company Botanica has been helping
horse owners to get control of mud fever for well
over a decade.
This month we love ...

We think the 50g ‘Simply Scoop’ from
Equilibrium Products may just be the best
think sliced bread! Handy to store by clipping
onto feed bags, the scoop has been designed
for use with the Simply Irresistible Virtuous
Vegetable horse treats...but we say hey! Why
not also use it for supplements and other
measuring requirements too.

RECOMMENDED PRODUCTS FROM THE
RANGE - CLEANSING WASH AND THE
BOTANICA HERBAL CREAM
LOOKING FOR GOOD
QUALITY DIGESTIBLE FIBRE?
Low levels of fibre, or poor quality fibre in the diet puts
horses at serious risk of problems. Ideally, there should be
a continuous flow of fibre coming through to help protect
the stomach from digestive disturbances.
The Mollichaff Complete range offers three fibre-based
complete feeds: Mollichaff HoofKind Complete for
horses and ponies prone to laminitis; Mollichaff Calmer
Complete for nervous or excitable horses and ponies; and
Mollichaff Condition Complete for encouraging weight
gain and condition.
When fed at the recommended amounts, these complete
feeds can be used as the sole bucket feed as they each
contain a broad spectrum vitamin and mi neral supplement
and only require good quality forage to be fed alongside.

By using the Cleansing Wash, as per the
instructions, the product is massaged well into
the affected area, which gently lifts the scabs
and allows the wash to penetrate. It’s best not to
rinse off, instead leave for three to five minutes to
allow the soothing, antiseptic qualities to work.
The next phase then is to apply Botanica Herbal
Cream, massaging in well. Repeat twice daily and
by the second week the mud fever should have
gone and new hair growth should be underway.
The Botanica range is made from 100% natural
ingredients and the company proud over the
effectiveness of all of its products.
For more information on Botanica’s range of
natural skin care products see

Botanica Products are also highly recommended for
horses that suffer from sweet itch.
