EXPERT INTERVIEW - PUBLIC RELATIONS Tara Punter PR Striding for Success H ave you ever wondered what it would be like to work in the fast paced environment of PR? PR, short for public relations, offers businesses a one stop shop for everything to do with marketing, growth, awareness and social media management. Here we interview Tara Punter from Tara Punter PR to learn more about what it takes to make it in an ever expanding area of the industry. 30 Can you tell us a little bit about yourself and what you do? What in the way of training did you do to get to where you are today, would you have done anything differently? I didn’t train specifically for this. I did an equine and agricultural business degree and chose relevant modules to help my business know-how. I graduated 5 years ago. It was another 2 years on before I went self-employed. I’ve trained with many professionals and am regularly attending seminars, webinars and coaching sessions to ensure that my knowledge is as current as can be (essential in this rapidly changing world!) How many hours a week do you spend writing? My workload varies every week! Typically I will work for anywhere between 55 and 70 hours a week on a whole variety of projects.
