played up a little on the final one , so we had to put the headcollar on . Needless to say , I was a very proud mummy that day .
The Big Move
Once Grace was fully shod , I spoke to Brian ( the owner of all the horses that I ride ) and asked him if it would be OK for me to move both Candy and Grace to my house . I was eager to start taking advantage of my new beautiful rural surroundings and excellent hacking possibilities .
I was over the moon when he agreed to a trial period to see how the girls handled being away from home . Grace has never spent a night away from the place that she was born , and Candy has only been away for championships where she has been stabled with lots of distractions .
I transported the girls separately as this is how they are used to travelling . Candy had a bit of a sweaty journey but took everything in her stride . Once she arrived at the field , she was more interested in grazing than finding out about her new surroundings .
Grace travelled exceptionally well ; her longest journey before this trip was fifteen minutes , but she travelled well with no stress . When we arrived at the field , she calmly walked down the ramp and into the field , where Candy gave her a shout and started walking over . They touched noses then proceeded to graze next to each other .
I will give them some time to settle before we start venturing out . I will update you in next months blog when we will hopefully be living in a different world with a bit more freedom .
That ' s all for now , stay safe and take care , Donna x
