FEI Eventing European Championships for 2021 and 2023 Allocated
Avenches in Switzerland will host this year ’ s FEI Eventing European Championship , with the 2023 edition allocated to Haras du Pin ( FRA ).
Host venues for these two important Championships and other key events were made by the FEI Board in March 2021 , with the full support of the FEI Eventing Committee and the European Equestrian Federation ( EEF ).
“ We are pleased to have the Swiss venue of Avenches hosting the 2021 Championships ,” FEI Secretary General Sabrina Ibáñez said . “ Following last year ’ s postponement of the Tokyo Games , the FEI had originally cancelled European Championships in all three Olympic and Paralympic disciplines so that the focus could remain on the Games in 2021 , but our community encouraged us to review that decision and we listened to those voices .
London Based Riding School Receives Community Support
Dulwich Riding School in London has been forced to close because of Covid restrictions and , like many other riding schools across the UK , is facing mounting pressure to pay the bills .
Georgina Billings attended Dulwich Riding School from the age of eight and now takes her two-year-old daughter Dillan . The two of them are on a passionate mission to raise much-needed funds for the school . They have set up a Go Funding page and went on a sponsored walk around Dulwich Park on Valentines Day . Next on the agenda is a fabulous " picnic " photoshoot to continue the momentum and reach their goal of raising £ 5000 .
" I can ' t say how needed Dulwich Riding School is in the area ; it is a safe space for young people and somewhere where people who might never have been in the countryside or around animals can have that experience . Everything about the stables is so inclusive , there are people there from every race and background , and it really is a community hub ." Georgina said .
“ After carefully reviewing three strong bids , which also included Boekelo in the Netherlands and Montelibretti in Italy , the FEI Board voted to allocate this year ’ s FEI Eventing European Championship to Avenches .
“ We are happy to be able to give our community something to look forward to during these difficult days as we tackle the EHV-1 outbreak .”
The 2021 edition of the FEI Eventing European Championship will run from 23- 26 September .
Haras du Pin ( FRA ) was named as host for the FEI Eventing European Championship in 2023 . The FEI Board had originally allocated the 2021 Championship to the French venue and , when there were discussions last year about the possibility of rescheduling the event away from the Olympic Games period , the Haras du Pin organisers were unfortunately unable to find an alternative date in 2021 . However , they put forward a proposal to the FEI to host the Championships in 2023 and this was agreed by the FEI Board . Dates are yet be confirmed .
The FEI Board also allocated the FEI Jumping Ponies Trophy Final 2021 to Mechelen ( BEL ).
Kronenberg ( NED ) will host the FEI Jumping Nations Cup™ Youth Final 2021 from 23-26 September .
Tara , the owner of MOCHARA Equestrian , was so inspired by the story that she has offered to dress Georgina in MOCHARA clothing for the event and donate her entire profits from sales on her website on 2nd April in a bid to help out the 60-year-old establishment .
Tara said " I feel so fortunate to live where I do and be able to ride every day . I inherited my love of horses from my Mum who grew up in London and was not fortunate enough to have access to a riding school and did not learn to ride until she moved to Sussex in her thirties ! It is so important that riding schools , especially urban ones , are able to survive and thrive in these difficult times ".

EquiAmi Invests in How-To Video for Patented Lunge Aid
EquiAmi , the manufacturer of the patented lunge aid which is endorsed by leading event riders and racehorse trainers , is pleased to announce the launch of a new range of how-to guides and videos . At a time when the EquiAmi team is unable to see potential customers at equestrian events and shows to show them the lunge aid in action , these videos will enable the brand to educate horse owners on the fit and function of the aid whilst online .
The EquiAmi is a patented lunge aid popular with both professional and leisure riders around the world . It is widely used by riders to educate their horses in self-carriage and accepting contact . It is perfect for use on horses undergoing rehabilitation from injury . It works by placing the horse in a selfcentering loop which aims to replicate the movement of a rider as they lengthen and shorten and adjust for circles and transitions . The horse can ’ t lean on the contact and must develop its own balance whilst accepting the contact .
The EquiAmi range includes a ‘ combi ’ version of the aid which can be used when riding or lunging .
