I made a survey in which I asked many parents about why they are giving vitamins for their children. Their children’s age varies from one year to 3 years and they all give their children vitamins for the same reason. For instance, Ali’s mother, Ali is 2 years old, said that” vitamins are important for my baby because it provide calcium, help in constructing bones in the right way and to protect him from diseases”. These are the main reasons that make any parents give their children vitamins. Moreover, Joudi’s mother, joudi is 1 years old, has the same reason, but she added an important point which is “ my baby is starting to walk , so I have to give her vitamins to be able to walk in the right way because many babies can’t walk right and they face problems in their legs later”. Therefore, vitamins are not only for supplying nutrients but also for constructing the bones in a right way especially for toddlers. Mothers said that there are many types of vitamins that they are all using such as “B12” and “V-drops” because they are really significant for their children. It was mentioned in an article that “micronutrients are essential for growth, improving mental abilities and also improve immunity in a child”. Experts are concerned about the immunity of children because they found that “Millions of children around the world are suffering from ‘hidden hunger’, a lack of micronutrients that can lead to disease and even death. In fact, 45% of all childhood deaths are attributable to malnutrition”. Thus, parents should be aware that not giving vitamins for their children in the first few years is very danger for their children because they will face problems as children and in their life.
