Making SPACE

Making SPACE

CLOSETS

Closets are tough when it comes to storage solutions , because their sole purpose is to offer storage , and storage alone . Therefore , people make the mistake of shoving everything in a closet all jumbled together , and they end up losing half of the space that was intended for use . Start by taking absolutely everything out of the closet “ in question .” Make “ stay ” and “ go ” piles , according to what you still need , and what is simply taking up space . Give away or sell the items that you no longer want , and invest in storage bins and small racks to place inside the closet . Store bulky items , such as coats and blankets , in a bin or in vacuum-sealed bags .
Take care in how you organize each item , placing the not-so-popular materials in harder to reach places , like the top shelf . Keep shoes neatly organized in hanging racks or on small shelves towards the back wall . For clothing and other garments , consider the hanging vacuum-sealed bags . These bags will save space and you can fit approximately 10 articles of clothing in a bag , which will shrink to the size of one garment .
