In this space , Jamie faced his most demanding client yet : himself . “ This is the first garden I ’ ve designed for myself ,” says Jamie , “ I finally had an opportunity to practice what I preach .” With Jamie playing the role of both client and designer , the challenge became obvious . He only had a seven-day window for completion between his work commitments .
Dreamlike and uplifting , Jamie ’ s ultimate outdoor room links exotic plantings with spaces for entertaining , working , bathing and even sleeping . From the ice cream parlor blue of the swimming pool to the 1950 ’ s tubular steel furniture in the living spaces , Jamie ’ s effort to stay true to the home ’ s heritage is , in fact , what binds this eclectic outdoor space together . The result is an outdoor room where life , style and nature truly merge into one .
